Summer Time Bass Fishing: Tips and techniques

When/Where/Why/How

Top-Water Froggin

When I'm frog fishing in the summertime, my number one frog is the Rattlin Frog-N-Craw without a doubt!!! It's not just the built-in rattles in the legs, it's the Aero hydrodynamic design of the bait, which is to say that it's so lifelike and versatile, and even better it's a bass catching fool...

I like to start off using it just like I would a double buzz bait. Even if that technique is catching bass, I like to always check the subsurface presentation out! 4 over 12 lbs on that presentation.

I found that power fishing isn't always the best choice! One of my main baits choices is the 7 inch Pro tour Rattlin worm, set up on a drop shot rig, but note I use an offset worm hook, rather than the traditional drop shot circle hook.

The basic presentation is very simple, fan-cast the area, let the bait sink to the bottom, keep your line slack, and simply drag, and pause. Then repeat.

It's also important to note, when using this technique, you do not need a tremendous book set, just reel in

Bass Hunting/ For Summer Period

How to locate and track active summertime bass. First look for the defined summer time weedline, which typically sits anywhere from 5 to 10 away from the bank/ or shoreline, and extends out into deeper water, typically 5 to 20 feet deep, depending on the body of water.

Look for creek channels that run into or set next to deeper weed beds, especially those that have active current flow.

Then look for unique features, such as hard bottoms, chunk rock, boulders, fallen trees, stumps, brush piles.

Add a footnote if this applies to your business
